A Victorian silver Common Prayer Book cover complete with original book of 671 (six hundred and seventy one) pages, printed at the University Press London.
Both are in very good condition although the first page of the the book has slightly worn through. The prayer book itself has a soft maroon suede type cover with some slight silver polish marks on the cover and gilded page edges.
The back and sides of the cover are solid silver and the font has a lovely foliate and leaf pierced pattern.
The silver chain has a key ring attachment to hang on a chatelaine.
This Silver Prayer book case was made in London in 1889.
